Animal Rights

Do animals deserve to have the same rights as humans? Over the past few years activist groups such as PETA have been trying to prove that they do. I feel that animals do not have the same rights as people and should continue to be used in experimentation and product testing. The following sources will be used to proof my point and counter the opposition's arguments.

The First source I found was the online BrainyEncyclopedia website. This is a neutral resource because it is a site where a number of legal issues, including animal rights, can be researched. On the main page links to animal rights groups can be found and the rights of animals in the eyes of the law.

The next source came from a link on BrainyEncyclopedia's site. PETA's site is the source of information I will use to dispute and recognize arguments from the opposition.

The following quote sums up their feelings. "We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form." -- William Ralph Inge

Compassion over Killing, Animal Rights International, and Hunt Saboteurs Association are all organizations biased toward animal rights. Each site offers its own advantage over the other however I have grouped them together because they are mostly the same. Each has movie clips showing the horrors of animal cruelty that visitors can download and watch. Each has articles written by supporters of animals rights and even allows you to e-mail them.
