Access Human Biology Level 3 Module Assignment
A nomogram can be used to estimate the energy requirements of a certain age and sex depending on the nomogram used, but you need to know their body mass and Pal.
Using a nomogram that I was given for boys aged 10 to 18 years old I will estimate the energy requirements for a boy with:
A mass of 60kg and PAL of 1.4 the boy would need 10mj day-1
A mass of 40kg and PAL of 1.8 the boy would need 10.2mj day-1
The relationship between physical activity and energy requirements is that the more physically active a person is then they need more energy. This is because the more physically active a person is the more energy needed by the muscles to function correctly.
The relationship between body mass and energy requirements is that the more body mass a person has then the more energy-required daily.
This relationship is because the more body mass a person has then the more energy required to move the body mass.
The energy requirements of a 10 to 18 year old boy would differ from that of a 10 to 18 year old girl with the same body mass and PAL as the boy, the girl would need less energy than the boy would.
That of an adult male with the same mass and pal as the boy would differ as they younger boy needs less energy for physical activity level, where as the adult male would need more energy than the boy as his body requires this as over time it begins to slow down.
Then term Dietary Reference Value (DRV) is a dietary reference to the amount a person should eat to maintain a healthy diet, it also shows that not every one...
