1.1 Reasons for choosing this topic

For this research and analysis report, I have chosen topic 8 "An analysis and evaluation of the business and financial performance of an organization over a three year period."

As a professional accountant, it is a basic and crucial skill to evaluate and analyze a company's performance so that managers can obtain sufficient and correct information to make right decisions, and investors can rely on those information to make investment. As for me, I am still a full-time student without any working experience but I can apply my knowledge learned through ACCA programme to this topic. This topic gives me an opportunity to enhance my skill of analyzing by applying knowledge to real life. Through this topic, I believe I can have a better and in-depth understanding of business models and can adapt quickly when moving into the work field.

Moreover, the financial statements of listed companies are open to the public and are easy to obtain information through the internet and other channels. Because of those so much information, I can...
