Advanced mobile phone features
As Mobile Phone become more advanced, so too do their features. Long gone are that days of carrying a small suitcase around with your mobile phone, as are the day of just using your mobile phone for making calls. There are many advanced features on mobile phone and the feature one phone may have another one may not. Some Phones are loaded with many multimedia features, while others are very basic with the only advanced feature being the internet.
The most common advanced feature is the internet. The internet is available, at some level, on just about all mobile phones. What makes the internet existence possible on a mobile phone is wireless application protocol, also known as WAP. It is an open international standard for applications that use wireless communication. Its principal application is to enable access to the internet from a mobile phone. A WAP browser is designed to provide all of the basic services of a computer based web browser but simplified to operate within the restrictions of a mobile phone. WAP is now the protocol used for the majority of the world's mobile internet sites, known as WAP sites In the early version of WAP, a gateway would translate requests to plain text HTTP.
