ALBERT EINSTEIN

Physicist and Genius

I read the book ALBERT EINSTEIN: Physicist and Genius by Joyce Goldenstern. Albert Einstein is said to be one of the greatest and smartest scientists of all time. Einstein will forever be one of the most significant genius' of the 20th century. His work and accomplishments solved centuries-old problems in physics and rocked even non-physicists' view of the world. Einstein is famous for his theories about light, matter, gravity, space, and time, which are still studied today.

Einstein is well regarded for a number of reasons. He is known for the development of the general theory of relativity (one of the two pillars of modern physics), and winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics (1921). However, Einstein is most well known for the law of mass- energy equivalence; through his famous formula E=mc².

Albert Einstein revised Newton's laws of gravity to make them more accurate.

The scientific community calls what he developed "the theory of relativity", but it is actually two theories. The first is called Special Relativity. This theory states that it is impossible to determine whether or not you are moving unless you can look at another object. All movement is relative to other objects. Special Relativity also says that the speed of light is always constant. This means that no matter what you do to light it will always go the same speed. The Theory of General Relativity is the one which redefined the laws of gravity. It says that it is impossible to tell the difference between gravity and the force of inertia from a moving object. The Theory of General Relativity also says that large objects can cause outer space to bend in the same way a marble laid onto a large thin sheet of...
