Ernest Miller Hemingway are one of the most famous American novelist, short-story writer and essayist who born in Oak Park, Illinois on 21 July, 1899. He had four marriages and several affairs in his life time. Hemingway's mother was a music teacher, she tried to instill conventional values in her children in the designated role of family disciplinarian. She insisted that Hemingway attend church, that he take music lessons, and that he generally embrace the prevalent Protestant work ethic values of mainstream, Anglo-Saxon America during the Progressive era. When he graduated from high school in 1917, he skipped college to pursue journalism. For seven months, Hemingway received a valuable on-the-job education as a cub reporter at the Kansas City Star but longed to join the American troops overseas fighting World War I.
