Animal Cruelty

Animal cruelty is a nationwide problem rapidly growing in today's society. What is animal cruelty? Wikipedia states: "Cruelty to animals or animal abuse is the infliction of suffering or harm upon animals, other than humans, for purposes other than self-defense. More narrowly, it can be harm for specific gain, such as killing animals for food or for their fur. Diverging viewpoints are held by jurisdictions throughout the world." So in an ideal world, animal cruelty would not exist. But, this is not an ideal world, and animals, domesticated and wild, are abused and beaten every single day. Should animals have rights? Yes, they should. All animals can feel both physically and emotionally. Therefore, it should be illegal to abuse any animal.

When animals get abused, people usually don't care. Imagine if that animal was a family member or your best friend.

These abused animals need to be fought for because they have as much of a right to live happy. Animals don't deserve to be tortured or harmed in any kind of way; they are poor and defenseless creatures. Imagine watching someone you love die because someone else, imagine that person is you pet. The circus and the film industry both play a big part in animal abuse. In the circus they torture animals physically and mentally to train them. When an animal doesn't do something right they use whips and punish the animals for not doing a trick correctly. They often will beat the animals until they learn to do the tricks correct.
