Animals are legally considered subordinate to humans. They are physically and mentally inferior but they are still living creatures. They require food, sleep, reproduce and feel pain therefore they should have some form of legal defense. Although animal testing has been very advantageous for our Society some of these practices can be classified as torture. I believe unnecessary animal testing shouldn't be allowed. I also think scientist should not in anyway be criminally charged for their experiments that are furthering American medical technology everyday.

Some people call zoos circuses and rodeos animal torture. The animals involved in these types of entertainment are certainly taken care of and not abused. Animal rights activists make sure of this. These practices are fine by me and I enjoy them myself. Not all animals that are used for entertainment are treated correctly in my opinion. People illegally hold dogfights and cockfights, which are terrible.

Animals are pinned against each other and battle to the death sometimes for gambling. This is where I would draw the line at entertainment. This should not be allowed.

Animals that are raised and who live unnatural, confined lives are butchered for out food. Hunting animals is also necessary because they can over

populate areas and even effect themselves with starvation. As horrid as this may sound its our way of life. I'm not a vegetarian and animals live off each other so I am not against slaughtering cows, chickens and other nutritional livestock for the nourishment of our country. I do not believe animals should be used only for their fashionable furs. If we kill the animal just for our clothing this is somewhat of a waste.
