Another Angel Going Home
The summer of 2006 was an ordinary summer for me as any other child. I was out enjoying
myself doing fun summer activities with friends and family, it was a summer filled with good memories. But towards the ending of the summer is where everything took a drastic turn that changed everything for me and my family. A morning during the month of August, I was at my cousins house and just woke up and then I got the news. My brother was murdered in Puerto Rico 4 days before his birthday. It took me a while to process the news through my head and when I finally did, it brought me to my knees. It felt so unreal. A death of a loved one is always a tough thing to go through but this one in particular was like no other.
I've always had a very strong bond with my brothers, especially Eric. I couldn't believe it, I felt like my life was falling apart this day. It was terrible. He was and still is one of my best friends and one of the greatest heroes in my life. That day I realized that you should live your life the way you want to as much as possible because you never know when it's your time to go.
My brother, who's name was Eric Perez was my second oldest and one of my closest brothers. He was only 24 about to turn 25 before he was murdered.
