Technology is very much a part of modern life. It's with us every day. We can't really escape it. Well, unless you would force yourself to live without it. But why would you? It is easier to live with it, to go along with it and accept it. And there is nothing wrong with doing that. But, we have to remember that everything has its limits. Many people see technology as a force that has escaped from human control. Others feel that technology has improved the quality of life.
Social media has changed the way people communicate a great deal. With all the new technology, and social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, younger generations have not developed the face-to-face communication skills needed for a business setting.
Television has had a dramatic impact on the amount of time that people spend together outside of work, and the demise of many clubs can probably be laid at the feet of the network executives who put keeping their audience glued to set every night above everything else.
I believe technology is a huge contributing factor in the increase in obesity, because it's taking away our need to be active. Before this technology came along, people were forced to be more active. You had to go out and walk around in order to shop, instead of using the Internet. If you got bored, you had to go out to have fun. Now, you can just play one of the huge numbers of electronic games, or do a lot on the Internet. People don't have to get up and move as much to get the same jobs done.
