Why abortion rights should be protected
Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival, this is the definition given on dictionary.com for the word abortion. This is the exact reason why I feel that abortion should be legal because of this lexical definition.
Over the years when one hears the term abortion they associate it with the killing of an innocent child. In some respect this is true because in today's world people are having abortions way after two weeks of being pregnant when the egg becomes an embryo and then a fetus. However people take advantage of the fact that they can get an abortion up to their second or third trimester.
One of the reasons that abortion rights should be protected is if someone is a victim of rape, she may become pregnant. She should not have to carry the baby to term because the event it self was traumatic enough.

Another reason that abortion rights should be protected is if it endangers the health or welfare of the mother. If during a females pregnancy there are complications where the mother might die if the baby is not aborted it should be allowed. This is because as long as the mother lives she will be able to reproduce again.
The protection of these rights excludes people who are getting abortions just because they are not ready for a child. Or for people who in the middle of their pregnancy decide that they just don't want the fetus so because the option is there they use it.
