Gender role express through Prehistoric art
The contoured line that shapes the woman's breast and stomach displays her fertility. The three dimensional figure emphasizes on the shape of the woman's body obviously to focus on her child bearing importance.
During the Neolithic age the female role according to prehistoric art was fertility just as it was in the Paleolithic age. The male role on the other hand, is to protect and hunt for food to feed the family. During the prehistoric age men figurines display many gender roles unlike female figurines. Men were thought of as the dominate� gender. The thinker of cernavoda �figurine shows a male figure sitting and reflects human introspection
