Article Response: John Locke, "Of Property."

In the Second Treatise of Government by John Locke wrote in 1690, writes about the right to private property. The chapter entitled "of property" tells how came the right to private property, and the role it plays in the state of nature, and the restrictions that have been set on private property rights, and the role the invention of money played in property rights and the role of property rights play after the establishment of the government. Locke makes important points about private property. According to Locke, the right to private property arose when God gave the world of men. Locke was a big fan of God in this chapter. Locke makes the argument that when God created the world for man, and man was made to make better the life of the world, and comfort.

What this means is that God made this world through one man, and when he did gave man the right to use what is in this world to their advantage. Locke explains that every man has a property in his own person, and nobody has the right to property, but that person. The author says that "at all, then he pulls out the state of nature has provided, and left it in, he has mixed his labor with, and joined what is his, and therefore makes it his property." Locke meant by this statement is that once someone takes something from its original state of nature that something becomes the property of that person.
