The arts(paintings, music, literature, etc)reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of society.

People acknowledge that arts are indispensable parts of our lives, But we feel difficulties in answering when someone asks "what is art" , Then, "What can we call arts" James, Baldwin defined arts as following "All art is a kind of confession, more or less oblique. All artists, if they are to survive, are forced, at last, to tell the whole story, to vomit the anguish up." As James's saying, arts are indirect confessions of artists, and through their works, artists express all affliction they involve. The works that artists try to represent can be accepted as genuine arts only when their works form sympathy with the masses, Therefore, artists should make efforts to recognize what society wants, what the publics desire to tell. Without these social considerations. artists' work couldn't impress people. Thus I do believe exertions that artists reflect social impulses in artists' own work is fundamental obligation and right in creating arts In this paper, I will try to explain why we should understand arts considering social situation.

The essential condition to become genuine arts is to evoke people's sympathy because a work of art is evaluated by others, That is, artists can't valuate their own works as art, only people have rights to define these works as arts. Some people are opposed these statements saying that some excellent arts contend the stories that are remote from a matter of social concerns. But I think this is an another sort of expressions to reveal social aspiration. Especially the story or expression that are likely to remote from society is popular when social absurdity get more serious. Because people dream of deliverance from absurd society.
