Biology is a huge part of our lives that not many people take the time to think about and consider each day. Taking a Biology course heightens your observation of things around you which are definitely aspects of biology. They are not only critical to us now, but will be critical for solving problems in the future. There are so many aspects of biology that are integrated into our daily life that we don't even realize. It is very important that we acknowledge these critical aspects in order to ensure a fruitful future for our children and our children's children.
One of the major aspects of Biology that will be critical for solving problems in the future is the science of artificial reproduction such as invitro fertilization, artificial insemination and other forms of reproductive assistance. Our population is already growing at a rate much larger than what the world is capable of sustaining and it is very important that we monitor how quickly we allow the population to grow.
At this point in time, invitro only has about a 20% success rate. However, when it is successful, sometimes it results in births of 5, 6, or even 7 children. Hopefully, as this technology improves we will be able to achieve two goals: a) increasing the success rate and b) successfully achieving births that are either one or two babies as opposed to a half dozen. This will help to control the population somewhat while still allowing people who might not otherwise be able to conceive to have the joy of parenthood.
On the same note, the next important aspect of biology for the future would be to consider how we are going to feed all the children that we bringing into this world. Genetically engineered food products are a perfect...
