Attacking the Economy with Your Tax Plan
The situation in the economy should greatly concern you, President Bush. Despite your recent military accomplishments in Afghanistan and Iraq, they may not be enough to get you reelected for a second term. But I do not need to give you a history lesson on how important the economy is; you should already know this. In 1992, despite enormous military success in Iraq, your father lost to Bill Clinton for the simple reason that the economy had faltered. Now whether it was his policies that hurt the economy or Reagan's late 80's deficit reductions that had just taken effect does not matter. The President who is in office at the time of a recession will take the fall. We need to make sure that you succeed in attacking the economy so that you do not suffer the same fate as your father. You do not need and cannot begin to solve the nation's problems in this year.
But, if you can keep the economy from going farther downhill, we could have much more time in your second term to deal with it. Hopefully, we wont have anymore terrorism to deal with, and that will give us more time to concentrate on the economy. As much as it pains me to quote James Carville and George Stephanopoulos, there is one thing that will get you reelected; it's the economy, stupid.
Many liberals, and there are too many in my mind, argue against your tax cut plan on a couple of fronts. First of all, they think that it makes no sense to cut taxes since we
Tessier 2
have increased spending so much. We have spent so much on the war on terror, and Democrats think they we need taxes to make up for...
Fantastic
Yes its true that the death tax aka "estate tax destroys family businesses as it has been created to prevent moguls from passing on their assets to the next generation. It is just another illegal action taken by the government to ensure that the pension plan for all of the politicians to remain wealthy and comfortable as we underprivileged keep working to keep them rich and spoiled.
