Some of the most important gods of the Aztecs were Huitzilopochtli the sun and war god, Tlaloc the rain god, and Quetzalcoatl the parton of arts and crafts and the god of self -sacrifice. Human sacrifice played a important role in there ceremonies they had. The Aztec believed that the gods needed human hearts and blood to remain strong . Worshipers sometimes ate portions of a victims body.
