I’ve chosen one word to define, and by the end of this essay you as the reader should be able to identify the word. The main definition of my word is a piece of equipment designed for use while being carried on the back and secured with two straps that go over the shoulders, but there can be exceptions. It can also strap around your waist this improves the potential to carry heavy loads, as the hips are stronger than the shoulders, and also increases agility and balance. Here is my hint to you; my word is actually two words conjoined together.

Originally in ancient times, my word was used to carry the hunter's large kills and other types of prey as a way of easier transportion. In the cases of larger hunts, the hunters would dismember their prey and distribute the pieces of the animal around each one packing the meat into many wrappings and then into my word which they place on to their back.

Finally in 1910 it my word earned its name in the united states. Now in 2008 they are very popular and trend setting.

They in general fall into one of three categories: frameless, external frame, and internal frame. Frameless is the simplest form its design is simply a sack attached to a set of shoulder straps. External frames are more traditional type of sack uses a rigid external frame which is strapped on the back and in turn carries and supports a cloth or leather sack and potential strapped on items. Internal frame has a large cloth section in which a small frame is integrated.
