Bill Gates“A decent provision for the poor is the true test of civilization.” Samuel Johnson once said. In our society, altruistic people are rare and not encountered easily. We have begun to sincerely respect and honor these people who do make a difference in the world. On October 28, 1955, one such individual was born. He saw how he could help the world, and incited others to as well, which has made him the man he is today. Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft is one of these exceptional people who have realized the way to prosperity and peace in the world. Bill Gates is the most influential entrepreneur of his time because of his charity, his contribution to computer society, and his passion for helping humanity.

Bill Gates’ charity, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is one of the most flourishing charities in the world. It is the most affluent, bequeathing copious amounts annually, totaling to about 29.1

billion dollars. “ . . . The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation [is] the world’s richest charity and the biggest philanthropic give-away ever” (“Saint Bill”). Also, aside from his own charity, Bill donates to various other charities including Save the Children, Knowledgeworks Foundation, the GAVI Alliance and many others. In addition to contributing so much, Gates continues to travel around the world to meet and help people. Due to their meticulous charitable activity, Gates and his wife, Melinda, were named “Time” magazine’s People of the Year in 2005, along with rock-star, Bono. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is part of the most successful aid organizations on Earth.
