Elizabeth I was born on September 7, 1533 in England. Her parents were Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Henry and Anne were the king and queen of England. Elizabeth's mom died when Elizabeth was 3. Her husband executed her because she was accused of committing adultery and treason. After Henry had his wife executed he asked the Parliament to make his marriage with Anne invalid from the start so Elizabeth would have no right to the throne. Henry's wish was granted and his marriage with Anne was said never to have happened.

By the age of six Elizabeth carried as much responsibility as a forty-year-old adult did. She was raised in the castle but her father didn't raise her. Servants tended to her even though she received little attention in the castle. Henry married again and had one more child, this time it was a boy, whose name was Edward.

Edward and Elizabeth were very close but this birth made it so even less attention was given to Elizabeth. Henry's last wife, Catherine Parr, gave Elizabeth the most attention of any of her relatives.

Elizabeth went through a rigorous education. Roger Ascham who was a great scholar taught her. During her education Elizabeth became fluent in Greek, Latin, French, and Italian. She also studied various religions and in the end became a strong protestant. Roger always complimented on how fast Elizabeth learned. Elizabeth father died when she was fourteen in the year 1547. So at the age of ten Edward became king of England. Catherine Parr being a widow remarried Thomas Seymour, who was accused of wanting Elizabeth to become queen.
