Mahatma Gandhi is known throughout the world as the most powerful Hindu political leader of all time. Most people thought that he was just an influential Hindu guru, but his close friends and family knew that he was much more than that.
Mahatma was regarded as the symbol for free India. His life was full of meditation, prayer and fasting. He abandoned all earthly possessions and ate meagerly such as fruits, vegetables and goat's milk. He led quite the simple life. At the age of 16, his father died and he had to find work to support his family.
