Blackfish Movie Review
Shocking and unapologetic, Gabriela Cowperthwaite's documentary 'Blackfish" tells you the story of the killer whale Tilikum, and his life in captivity as a performing killer whale at a marine-theme park Sea World. The story entails Tilikum's tragic incidents of injuring and fatal incidents of his victims. Victims who were professional trainers employed to interact with these marine giants at parks of Orlando, Florida, San Antonio, Texas, and San Diego, California.
Gabriela Cowperthwaite tells the tragedy of the actions of Tilikum, a 12,000 pound orca, implicated in the death and injuries of Sea World trainers. These incidents are discussed by former trainers who had worked alongside them at Sea World, that are also supported with audio and video of the attacks, such as the 2010 death of Sea World trainer Dawn Brancheau. The former trainers' input follows the whole film of their description of each of Tilikum's tragic moments of their own comments about Sea World's public representatives and directors trying to cover up the accusation of aggressive actions by the endangering orca, saying it was the trainer's faults or mistakes.

Footage of the Tilikum's attacks on the trainers,and injuries, are quite bruta, which makes its discomforting for the viewer to watch. The footage and photography of "bleeding whales, flanks raked by the teeth of their fellow captives; a trainer crushed between two gigantic beasts with only his wet suit holding him together; another trainer dragged repeatedly to the bottom of a pool until he manages to escape" is what also provokes and heightens the guilty and merciful emotions and thoughts of the captivity of orcas is...
