Book Review Born on the Fourth of July The main character in the story wrote the book. He tells how he became permanently paralyzed for the rest of his life. He joined the Marines right after High School and went off to the Vietnam War. Getting shot paralyzed him. His name is Ron Kovic. He is originally from New York. He wrote about his whole life. His life changed dramatically.

In the beginning of the story Ron Kovic tells about the accident. Then he tells us about his childhood. Then he goes into details about the hospitals he used to stay in after he got shot. Then he goes back to when he entered the marines. After that he tells about after he gets out of the hospitals. Then he tells how the accident happened.

The author, Ron Kovic himself, skipped around when he wrote this story. It was a little confusing in the beginning.

The story is very well written. It goes into good details. You can picture everything.

I think this book is a very good book. I recommend this to anyone that wants to hear about a true, detailed book on the war. It does swear a lot and is graphic so I wouldn't recommend it to someone that is young.

This book will have an effect on the reader. It lets you know what it's like to be in the war. It also gives you details on the hospitals they had. You will also get to know how the author feels about being paralyzed. It will make you be happy for what you have. This book has a lot of meaning.
