1.Apologies for absence

There was no apology received, everyone was present.

2. Presentation of the problem

The chairperson, Barbora Mihaliková, presented the way of improving the transparency and raising the profit of our company. The only possibility was to create the alliance with the leader of financial market. The problem was this company had insisted condition of shorten workweek of 35 hours.

3. Duscussion about the alliance

The possibility of the alliance was discussed. The discussion led to various opinions, each with its logical substantiation.

4. Opinions presented by managers, advantages and disadvantages of the alliance

Advantage of working 35 hours per week

The finance director, Denisa Michalíková, supported the alliance with a reason that the part-time workers would cost less money than workers working full-time. She suggested to all participants of the meeting to think about long term and accept the change as the only way from the current situation of our company.

Alliance needed, training seminars support

Ivana Kundrátová, the human resources manager, refused the 35-hours week, although she saw the necessity of this step as the only survival of existence of the company. For the positive future of the company, creating the alliance with as powerful company as the leader of financial marke tis, would be very reasonable. She would support training seminars to develop team spirit and cooperation in teams and power sharing practices for executives. She is open to other ideas and suggestions from her colleagues.

Problem with production deadlines, new trainings for part-timers

Tomáš Huszár, the Production Manager, is absolutly against the alliance. He remarked that by creating the alliance our company would endanger the production as workers would be unable to meet the production deadlines in shorter time. He then added that 35 hours workweek will rapidly increase costs because of necessity to recruit large numbers of new part-time workers. This action would pay a lot of extra work to train new employees. Due to his wish of making workers happy, he suggested paying overtime while he trained the new part-timers to do their jobs.

Compensation system required

Representative of workers was totally against the acceptance of the alliance. She declared that losing overtime hours would be a real problem and cause bad influence at our workers because of losing their extra money. Due to Denisa Kočišová, performance related bonuses, longer paid holidays or better health insurance would be sufficient compensation for losing an extra amount of salary. That is the reason why compensation system in the company needs to be adopted.

5. Final decision

The participants could not make compromise, meanwhile there was no exact decision made if the merge would be a good step to raise the profit from the production and save the company. Barbora Mihaliková, the chairperson of the meeting, finally requested to managers to prepare documents representing their opinions and decided that during next meeting, the final decision would be made.

6. Date of next meeting

The chairperson announced that the next business meeting would be held in the conference room on Tuesday next week, 10th December 2013 at 16:00. No apologies would be accepted.
