Management will use the information to make decisions to solve the problem or disparity facing the company. Each issue will require a different level of attention. In this paper research was conducted on the wages and wage earners. This surveyor collected information form 100 people and compiled it in to this data set. The type of information collected through a survey looked at the wages, industry, occupation, education, if the wage earner was southern, nonwhite, Hispanic, female, experience, married, age and union or nonunion. This project will determine whether the demographics in this data set will affect the wages of the employee.

PurposeThe purpose for this project is it allows management and employees to see how the demographics affect them.

With this information management can better assess where their company stands and if it is competitive. Employees can use this information to ascertain if their employer is treating them fairly based on their education and experience.

Problem DefinitionThere are disparities in wages bases on the factors that are identified in this data set. This research project will identify those disparities.

HypothesisThe hypothesis is that depending on a person's age, education, sex, race, location, and union status will affect the amount of wages earned. Some possible outcomes are the men will be paid at a higher wage then women. Union employees will make more than their counterparts who are nonunion members. Those with higher levels of education will make more and occupy more of the management jobs.

Review of LiteratureThe literature has covered many aspects that are applicable to the data set.
