Canada is a country of freedom and opportunity, as well as diversity and great historical moments. Canadian history is precious, as it has helped shaped Canada into the great country it is today. Canada is the second largest country in the world. It is located in North America directly above the United States. Canada has a parliamentary government with strong democratic traditions. Canada is a big leading exporter, and without it, the world would change dramatically in economical terms.

Canada is the home to the seventh largest economy in the world. As with other developed nations, the Canadian economy is dominated by the service industry. The logging and oil industries are two of Canada's most important industries. Canada has had far fewer political upheavals or military conflicts than other societies. Which, is why the economic system has stayed the same as it has always been. Canada has a market-oriented economic system.

Social democratic capitalism to be exact which is the same system in most of the Western world. Canada is far left of the US in this regard with more government intervention and more protection for employees. The Canadian Government, formally Her Majesty's Government in Canada, is the federal government of Canada. Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, is the sovereign and head of state of Canada. The government of Canada affects its economy because the government can intervene with the economy.

Canada’s economy is both mature and diverse, benefiting from lots of natural resources. An important factor in the country’s development was the free trade agreement with the US that was signed in 1989. Oil and lumber are two vital industries and exports.
