Introduction

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is the traffic group that represents the best recording industry in U.S. Its mission is to promote a business and legal climate that supports and promotes the members ingenious and monetary strength. Its members are the record companies that comprise the most energetic national music industry in the world. RIAA generate, produce and deal out about 90% of all lawful sound recordings produced and vended in the United States. RIAA works to defend intellectual property rights worldwide and the First Amendment rights of artists; conducts consumer, industry and technical research; and monitors and evaluates state and federal laws, regulations and policies.

Discussion

The recording industry is having problem with its subpoena-filing movement of music file-swapping. There are the few steps that play important role to stop file swapping:

The network-sniffing technology tries to evaluate files moving through a network in opposition to that database and block unauthorized files.

Control the widespread copying of files over peer-to-peer networks.

Industries are distributing brochures, running ads in newspapers and on web pages to information on copyright contravention.

The industry has begun to hold pay music-download services, particularly the successful Apple iTunes for Macintosh computer users.

Music can be duplicated and circulated almost without cost via the internet, while payment and distribution technologies are reducing the transaction costs of its commercial exchange. Music files must download from the internet complimentarily when the artist market it very first time but couple of days this music can bought through the same site. Artist must advertise, expresses, or promotes itself in ways that either state or imply that its offerings include music from the major record labels, Charge fees to users after the complimentary days, Creates a risk of consumer misunderstanding about the legal...
