ABSTRACT

This study examines the use of Global System of Mobile Communication (GSM) among University students in Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Survey approach was used in data collection from respondents and a sample population was selected from collected data from the university. Fifty four undergraduate, graduate and post graduate students were sample such that the total number of male and female was kept equal. Result from the analysis showed that there is no correlation exists between Marital Status and Average Rate of Incoming and Outgoing Calls per day in minutes, as the entire sample respondents were single (not married). Under further analysis on other demographic characteristics results from a multiple regression analysis shows that Expenditure Monthly was found to be most significant with β value of 7.203 and p-value of 0.00.
