Introduction

Marketing strategy refers to a process that can let a business enterprise focus its resources on the maximum opportunities with the goals of attaining sustainable competitive advantage and increasing sales. Marketing strategy involves all essential and long-term exercises in the scope of marketing that concern the analysis of the strategic beginning status of the business enterprise and the formulation, assessment, and choosing of market-oriented strategies and thus contributes to the marketing objectives and goals of a business enterprise. Many marketing strategies miss getting implemented. They either miss getting implemented in a timely manner, fully or thoroughly (Cadogan, 2006).

According to Cadogan, "The global business field is full of expensive, well-designed marketing strategies that failed in the implementation stage and various studies have discovered that less than ten percent of effectively formulated marketing strategies proceed to successful implementation."

Of course, this is not good for the people who devoted so much of their time formulating the marketing strategy, bad for the customers who require the marketing improvements, bad for the employees of the business enterprise who requires a successful employer and bad too for the shareholders who missed out on the gains advancements programs defined in the marketing strategy. The following are some of the challenges that the firm may face during the implementation of its marketing strategy.

Poor Executive and Management Support

A marketing strategy may fail because there is insufficient backing for the planned journey. This can signify disagreement on where they are now, where they need to get to, how they are going to get there, when they need to get started, how long the journey will take, how much it will cost and what they will find when they get there.
