Have you ever experienced something you wanted to until it actually happened? Well, I have. I was 11 years old when my life took a sharp turn. I always wanted to come to United States of America to see my father but when I did, having to go to Bear Lakes Middle School became a complete torture and it was a lot different than I thought... On the first night when we arrived in USA, my 13 years old brother (at that time) was rushed to the hospital. The main purpose to come here was to save my brother's life. All of this affected me in a lot of ways. When my dad came home at 3:00 AM in the morning, he told me that my brother was diagnosed with Leukemia. I never ever thought that my brother would have to go through something so life threatening like cancer. Tears still roll down my eyes when I think of that night.

Then the next morning, my sister and I were admitted into Apollo Elementary School in Orlando. Days, weeks, months, and then a year went by when my brother was finally in remission (the cancer was in a dormant state). After a while, we moved to West Palm Beach where I had my worst experience in Bear Lakes Middle School. Boy, is that a BAD memory! Students in that school were plain boorish. At that time, I didn't know how to speak English very well so, people used to make fun of me so much that I used to go home, crying. I learned a very good lesson there though: Never be nice to someone who's mean to you because they will only take advantage of you.
