Abstract

Developing healthy eating habits is not an easy task. What we eat, how much we eat and when we eat are all factors that have a significant impact on our physical, mental and emotional state of mind. When a person is healthy, they are generally happier than someone who struggles with health issues. As I've gotten older, I have realized that a significant factor in maintaining a healthy body overall is to maintain a healthy weight. It is still possible for a person with a normal or "healthy" BMI to experience illnesses in their body since no one is exempt from the possibility of developing health problems. However, when a person maintains a healthy weight proportion, they have a greater chance of being able to fight off or prevent the degree to which they experience some health related issues.

A healthy person is a happy person. This assignment will outline my personal experiences with unhealthy eating habits such as eating late at night, the effects it has had on my health personally, and what I've done to change some of this behavior within myself and family to promote healthier eating habits.

Choosing to maintain healthy eating habits as a way of life as opposed to a temporary diet, requires a lot of focus, preparation and discipline. I was diagnosed with chronic Ulcerative Colitis in 2002. Ulcerative Colitis is a disease of the digestive system. The only known cure for this disease is to have your entire Colon removed.
