Who is Jesus Christ?

Islam and Christianity are very much different but in many ways they are the same. When one looks at the Bible and looks at the Koran at a quick glance it would almost seem like they were very similar however when put against each other they have radical differences. Jesus Christ the main figure in Christianity and the most well known person of all time is not the main figure of Islam. The main figure of Islam is Muhammad who does not appear at all in Christian canonical scriptures because he came after they were put together. Christians reject Muhammad but both religions accept Christ. The difference is Islam and Christianity has very different views on who he was (or for Christians is).

Both Christianity and Islam believe that Christ came in the name of God.

The Koran states "[[19.34] Such is Isa, son of Marium; (this is) the saying of truth about which they dispute. [19.35] It beseems not Allah that He should take to Himself a ! son, glory to be Him; when He has decreed a matter He only says to it "Be," and it is. [19.36] And surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path." and in these verses show that Jesus who the Koran refers to as Isa is a prophet of God and not the Son of God. In Christianity Jesus states that he is the only way to the Father and the only way to receive salvation.
