Compare and Contrast

Christianity and Islam are two of the most common religions. They both have many similarities and differences that make them unique. They are very alike but not everything is the same between these two religions. People who believe in Islam are called "Muslims" and people who believe in Christianity are called "Christians". They use these names to identify each other from others. Muslims worship Allah and Christians worship Jesus Christ.

Islam started and spread very fast throughout the Arabian Peninsula. Muhammad founded the religion, Islam. Muhammad was born on 570 A.D in Makah. Around 610, Muhammad was on Mount Hira meditating when suddenly he heard a voice. That was the voice of Angel Gabriel. According to Muslims, he was sent by God to revelate the first verse of the Qur'an. He continued this until he died.

He was born on 632 A.D. Muslims pray 5 times a day at certain times. They give to charity once a year. They follow the practices and teachings of the Qur'an. They also fast, abstain from eating, lying, drugs, and many other. They have many prophets but the main one is Muhammad.

Both, Islam and Christianity are monotheistic. Muslims and Christians believe in Judgement Day. Judgement day is considered the last day where the dead will be resurrected. Then God will judge each person for their sins. He will decide to send them either to heaven or hell. Muslims stressed their connection to Jews and Christians. Christianity perfected Judaism, and Islam was the final stage in God's plan. Angel Gabriel is important in both religions because he was sent by God to deliver a message to someone.
