William Shakespeare is considered the best playwright of all time. One of Shakespeare's most famous plays is "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet". Nearly 400 years later, a director named Baz Luhrmann recreated the play "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet" into a modernized version. Despite the fact that the director of the film version of "Romeo and Juliet" and Shakespeare used the same script, there were some similarities and differences between them.

Although both the movie and actual written wok had very different setting, there were some similarities and difference between them. It is most obvious that the film version took place in a more modern like time like the nineties; while the actual play took place in the Elizabethan times. Both the actual play and the film version take place in a setting called Verona. However, in the movie, the action occurs in another Verona in the nineties, in a city like Los Angeles with two large buildings towering over the city belonging to the Montagues and the Capulets.

A lot of things were to transition from the Elizabethan time to modern day. One change to the story was the weapons used in the film. The original story used daggers and sword as weapons whereas the film version uses guns. Like the actual play, the language the characters in the movie use are the same as was used during Shakespeare's time. Even though you could not understand the script, the actors and actresses acted out the scene very well. In addition, the costumes were changed. Unlike back in the Elizabethans time whereas the people wore wardrobes, in the film version the actors and actresses wore cloth like shirts and skirt that we wear today.

Both the movie and the actual had very interesting similarities...
