In this essay, I decided to compare and contrast our current president George W. Bush to the 1933 German leader Adolf Hitler. At first glance of the subjects of my paper, people will disregard it at liberal propaganda. This is not true and I am just looking at the facts.

That being said, let's start with the war-mongering. The American Heritage Dictionary defines fascism as "A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism." We don't have a dictatorship, but, Bush is in my opinion the most extreme right you can get. Also, according to www.rense.com, "There's a thorough melding of state and business leadership in this administration.

Let's continue on with the way these two men arrived in office. President Bush, like Adolf Hitler, came to power legally, but not the traditional democratic way.

The majority of Americans and the majority of Germans did not elect either leader.

Both Hitler and Bush dealt with problems inside their own country by starting a war with a weaker country. Both also claimed that a higher power was "putting the OK" on it. In Bush's case he said it was Jesus that told him to get Saddam out of power. Hitler just said, " Higher powers" told him to do it.

Hitler rounded up Jews and gassed them, which is known as the biggest genocide of all time. Bush has rounded up Arabs, Muslims, and anyone with Middle Eastern descent, but did not gas them. This is the first difference I've found yet.

The biggest difference though is that us Americans still have our rights intact. Well that is most of them. (Patriot Act, anyone?) Hopefully further freedoms will not be taken from us...
