One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
When R.P. McMurphy started to show signs of leadership amongst the patients, Nurse Ratched started to become jealous of his position with the patients. I am going to compare Dale Wesserman's play "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" to the movie directed by Milos Forman, of the same title. The play is similar to the movie in many ways. The battle between R.P. McMurphy and Nurse Ratched appears in both the play and the movie. McMurphy and Ratched are both struggling to have the patients follow them more than the other. They each end up winning a few battles, but in the end Nurse Ratched comes out victorious.

Jack Nicholson as Randle Patrick McMurphy attendin...In both the play and the movie R.P. McMurphy plays the role of the leader of the patients. At the end of the movie they all look up to him as if he were a god of some sort, all because he had the guts to stand up for what he believed in and say something to Nurse Ratched.
Nurse Ratched, in so many ways, causing the deaths of Billy Bibbit and R.P. McMurphy is a similarity between the play and the movie. I believe it was Nurse Ratched's fault even though Billy killed himself and the Chief put McMurphy out of his misery by killing him.
In many ways the play is different from the movie also. One major difference between the play and the movie is the basket ball game. It is different because of when they play, where they play, and who they play.
The Electric Shock Therapy scene is different in the play than in the movie. In the movie this is the scene when R.P. McMurphy finds out that Chief Bromden can talk. In the play...
