So far it had been the worst four hours of my life. I had gotten no sleep the past night and made futile attempts at sleeping in a chair. Every few minutes my heart would jump out of my chest as I peeked my head up to see if Allison was ready to go. Finally, Allison came out of one of the rooms in the back and we could leave. As I paid the woman, she reminded Allison to take the first pill now and the second one in twelve hours. We had walked into that building a couple of scared kids, and left it a little bit older.

Jump back three days to Friday night. My family was away for a week in the Dominican Republic and my house had become a non-stop party. Friday was the same as every other day and that night there was a party at the house.

The usual cast of characters were there at seven on the dot to drink and have a good time, but unbeknownst to them this would be the last night there was a party. I won't get into all the details, but after everyone had either went home or passed out something awful happened. Panic ensued as I let Allison know about the disaster that had just occurred. She broke down into tears almost instantly and could not be consoled. I tried to keep my composure in front of her, but was just as afraid as she was. That night the both of us got no sleep- laying in bed staring at the ceiling as if it would give us the answer.
