When looking at the people walking the face of the earth, why are some of them insensitive and heartless? Why don't they feel any pain when other people hurt? Why do they completely turn themselves off to the
injustices of the world? Unfortunately, "Some people are insensitive or heartless." With no regard to the consequences, insensitive and heartless people are so wrapped up in themselves that they control and manipulate others in order to succeed and reach their goals. In William Shakespear's play, Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is a prime example of a heartless and insensitive person who disregards the feelings of others in order to gain success and power.
In Act I, Lady Macbeth first shows her insensitivity and heartlessness after receiving a letter from her husband, Macbeth. The letter explains the three witches prediction that her husband will be king if King Duncan dies. The power of greed overcomes Lady Macbeth, and when she is reunited with her husband, she tells him that he must kill the king.

The English actor Charles Kean as William Shakespe...Macbeth, a sensitive and a loyal man to the king, does not want to do this evil deed. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth argue about the idea of murder, and Lady Macbeth calls Macbeth a "coward, wimp, and spineless worm." She belittles Macbeth by saying, "I have given suck...have plucked my nipple from his boneless gums...and dashed the brains out, had I so sworn as you have done to this." She informs him that her promises and words are never broken. She expects the same from him. Lady Macbeth finally convinces her husband to kill Duncan by devising a flawless pplan.
