Critical Thinking Application
Critical thinking affects aspects of our lives; as a student, personal, professional, and as a parent. Hard to believe, but few people realize the powerful role that thinking plays in their everyday lives. People can be their worst enemies without realizing how their thinking causes distress. Seeking new and unique ways to solve a problem involves and can be influenced by critical thinking. Effective learning and productive living stem from critical thinking.
"Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. It is reasonable, reflective, responsible, and skillful thinking that focuses on decisions based on what to do. Critical thinking involves asking appropriate questions, gathering relevant data, sorting through the data, and coming to a reliable and trustworthy decision or conclusion.
