This case study has brought many issues to the forefront which happens to many businesses today. In our case, Faith Community Hospital is facing similar issues where administrative staff members down to the nurses and doctors, in other words all personnel have lost the intent and scope of the vision. As a result, the hospital has run into numerous problems. During the course of this paper we will try to define some of the problems that Faith Community Hospital is facing, and provide possible solutions with a reasonable rationale.

Problem Statement

The problems at Faith Hospital seem to be many. While the hospital has a Mission Statement, it seems that everyone has their own interpretation of what the words in the Mission Statement mean. Faith Community Hospital's mission statement is as follows:

"With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and values" (pg1).

As we have said in the beginning of this paragraph, it is clear that mission statement does not share the same core values as the board of directors. It is important to point out that mission statements are great to keep the focus of the total picture of your business. However, if the mission statement does not meet the need of your stakeholders and members of your staff, then what's the point of having one? To that extent, mission statement of the Faith Community Hospital needs a major overhaul.

Medical services are not consistently administered. It does not seem that there are clear process, guidelines, and policies in place to ensure that everyone is operating on the same page.
