My company has three international offices located in the USA, Europe, and Japan, and two factories in China. We specialize in providing customized products for any organization, targeting school spirit teams. Our products consist of spirit items such as our cheerstixs, hats, duffel bags, bears, flip flops, cheerleading accessories, and team merchandises. All of our products are designed to equip our clients' logo. Therefore it is important that when an order is placed, our client information and the order are correctly aligned.
Databases are used to store, manage, and retrieve this information. Each section of the database has its specific function. If database did not exist, we would have to revert to paperwork, which will slow down productivity. Employees would then have to hand write and draft everything on paper. As a result, we also will have to make several phone calls and rely on faxes to accomplish a simple task.
Since we use a database, our employees are able to have access to information instantly. This paper highlights the three databases that my company uses: GoldMine, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Excel.
We require the use of GoldMine for maintaining customer contact information. This information includes customer name, phone number, delivery address, email, type of organization, and a designated order number for references. Since each order have to through several different departments, it is critical for us to maintain and share this information with all of their employees. GoldMine enables instant access to company-centric view of customer and contact information, including complete histories, sales, and calls (FrontRange Solution 2006).
