The Four Season Management Company is a global organization that manages properties all around the globe. "Four Seasons has followed a targeted course of expansion, opening hotels in major city centers and desirable resort destinations around the world" (Welcome, 2008, p.1). Establishing presence in various geographical locations is a unique feature of this organization. "Currently with 78 hotels in 32 countries, and more than 31 properties under development, Four Seasons continues to lead the hospitality industry with innovative enhancements making…leisure travel more rewarding" (Welcome, 2008, p.1). The stakeholders in our organization expect delivery of our innovative style which includes the evaluations and considerations of opportunities to expand in areas of the world that will be profitable to shareholders, attract business and leisure travelers and be beneficial to particular geographical locations and environments.

The island of Kava in the South Pacific is in need of organizations that will strengthen their economy by providing jobs for local residents and making use of domestic resources of the island. The government of Kava realizes that they are facing disastrous effects of economic downfall. They are very supportive and encourage our presence on the island. The Four Seasons is considering establishing a greater presence on Kava and using many factors in our evaluation.

Issues, Concerns, and Opportunities in Kava

Like many other islands in the South Pacific, Kava is facing disaster threats. Hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, and fires are concerns of the government and people of Kava. HIV and other health related issues are evident as well. Fortunately, Kava has many resources that are potentially beneficial to internal economic stability. Trade, export, and other foreign markets are also depending on Kava.
