Technology in today's world is always changing and the ever improvements have caused need for experienced and well-trained individuals. Some people will even go as far as stating that if aircraft has evolved as fast as technology the world would be traveling to the moon for vacation. This paper will go over some of the aspects of the training environment within Verizon Wireless. This paper will cover training needs, design and development, implementation, and evaluation.

Needs AssessmentVerizon Wireless is a company that is always striving to be the best. In order for Verizon to be the most dependable and profitable, they must always be on the lookout for new types of technology. This in itself creates an enormous need for training. Verizon Wireless expands their wireless network every day. These expansions also create an ever-increasing need for training. Verizon is always completing training needs assessments to measure if there are areas that need more focus than others need when it comes to training their employees.

This is why Verizon Wireless has a team dedicated to training. This team does nothing but asses the needs, create and conduct trainings. Verizon Wireless is dedicated to their customers by ensuring their employees have the best up to date training available.

Design and Development"For the second consecutive year, Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading provider of wireless communications, has been named one of the nation's top 100 companies by Training magazine for its continued commitment to employee development and for smartly connecting its training programs to business objectives" (Verizon, 2006) .The training is designed around the changes that have been made. Most of the training materials are created through computer based training and simulations. Some of the trainings are created for the classroom in order to get instant feedback from the employees.
