I decided to do the topic (How did Fr Damien live out Jesus' statement "Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends".) I've chosen to do this topic because father Damien wanted to help the Honolulu people with the disease leprosy like Jesus did in his time healing the sick, giving food to the people who are hungry, giving clothing to the naked and caring about other people and not himself.

One of these examples is when Father Damien arrives on Molokai when the people were dying he would take them to a place and where he would die. He would do his best to try and help them; He doesn't care about what would happen to himself he only thinks about other people. He had compassion towards the people who had Leprosy and would help them in any way possible.

He would also eat with them with no fear and he had shown love and compassion towards everyone on Molokai.

Another example is when is when Father Damien tried to protect a girl who was going to be examined by the doctors but he knew that she would be sent to Molokai but he believed that was the wrong thing to do So when the asked for volunteers he was the first man to stand up and volunteer to go to Molokai. He knew what risk were involved if he went to Molokai but he didn't do it because that would mean automatic entry to heaven but he did it for the people who had leprosy and he would try to help them as much as possible.

The last example is when Father Damien demanded that he would have wood so he could build beds, tables and cupboards.
