Abstract

OSHA and EPA are two safety related fields that oversea safety operations in work related field, environmental safety standards, aviation, and even safety in the entertainment business. No matter where safety is needed, it is important to note that organizations like OSHA and the EPA are created to regulate "life" to make us safe.

Differences in OSHA & EPA

The EPA and OSHA are obviously two entirely different administrations focused on two different areas of approach, however; their main focus, safety, is totally indifferent, In this paper I aim to approach the differences between OSHA and EPA by describing their mission as safety organizations and also by describing their purpose.

OSHA

OSHA, or the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, is an organization created to enforce safety regulations and impose safe working practices in the workforce.

OSHA's mission is to assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance. (Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 2014) The purpose of OSHA is to work alongside the Department of Labor to ensure safe practices in the workplace. OSHA has a wide jurisdiction and the rules and regulations governed under OSHA are created to allow OSHA the ability to shut down unsafe practices until companies or businesses out of regulation are compliant. OSHA helps keep the employee and the employer safe while both parties are not only making a living for themselves, but also providing goods and services that ensure a healthy economy.
