As we all know, the Renaissance was a time of great art and change. Three of the great artists of the Renaissance were Bellini, Michelangelo, and Raphael. These men, in my opinion, created great works of art that are still being cherished by many today.

A Ignudo, Sistine ChapelBellini was the most important painter active in Venice in the late 15th century. He was born in Venice in 1430. In the way he painted, he added some very beautiful effects. His paintings mostly had this warm, hazy light feel to them. He painted in oils. Bellini seemed to tend to paint religious scenes and was quite good at landscapes. One of his major accomplishments was the degree of realism he brought to paintings. Some of his most popular works were; The Agony in the Garden, The Crucifixion, The Virgin and Child with Two Saints, and the Lamentation Over the Body of Christ.
Michelangelo could quite possibly be the greatest artist and sculptor who has ever lived. His painting and sculptures have changed the meaning of art forever. Michelangelo was born on March 6th, 1469, in a town near Florence. His mother passed away before Michelangelo was six years old, leaving him only with the nobleman who was his father. He began to show an interest in art by the age of 12, and was set to be an artist at the age of 13. His tutorship was under the great sculptor, Donatello. Michelangelo seemed to be interested in the male anatomy, and most of his sculptors and painting were of nude males. Some of his carvings include; Madonna of the Stairs, Pieta, and Doni Tondo. Some of his great paintings include the paintings of the Sistine Chapel, which is considered his greatest glory, and The Last Judgement.
