Liberal View on Abortion

A UNICEF study has said that some 1400 girls and women die each day from causes of related to childbirth. Although these deaths may not all be because of having an unwanted child, women still risk their lives every time they give birth. Is it reasonable to force a woman to go through those risks for having a child that they never intended to have? To some people, an abortion is interpreted as a murder of a human being. However, a fetus is not a human life and so it cannot have its own separate rights.

At the very least, it should not have the same rights as a grown woman, who is already in control of her own body. As stated earlier, death through childbirth is not an unlikely tragedy. Terminating a pregnancy is often recommended to save the mother's life in situations where the mother's life is in danger.
