America uses tariffs to control the amount of imported goods you can think of this as a good or bad. For the consumer this can raise the price of imported goods to such an extreme price that it more than pushes it out of your means to buy anything other than the American produce equlvent. For the American economny this is a good thing it keeps money flowing in our pool instead of sending it elsewhere. This is also beneficial to the American workers making the parts or providing the labor this creates jobs in turn lowering unemployment, welfare and homelessness also increases the standard of living.
