Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935. At birth he had a twin who unfortunately was a stillborn baby. Elvis always said that he could talk to his twin brother. Elvis grew up being very poor and his parents were always trying to get by, doing anything they can to make money. Elvis' dad was always jumping from job to job. The house that Elvis grew up in was called "The Shotgun House," because it was so small that if a shot was fired in the front door it would go through the back door.

Elvis' career started when he entered in a talent show and won second place for singing. When he was in High school he started recording with Sun Record Label. This was his first Recording Label. After some of the people from the label hear him they spend more time with him trying to work with him and make him better and soon after that Elvis' first appearance on the radio happened.

After working with Sun for a while he later signs with a bigger recording label, RCA. Under there label he releases his first LP, and he called it Elvis Presley. This indicates that just his name alone can sell millions.

Not only was Elvis singing and selling records he did his first movie called Love Me Tender and he was a great actor as well. He was in about 33 movies and not only was he in them he played one of the main roles in almost all of them.
