The name of my family immigrant is . He emigrated from Italy. Was born and raised in Rosetta, a county near Florence. He was born on March 1884. As a child his father would take him across the Mediterranean Sea. When he was across he would work on a coffee plantation. The plantation owners would take him for the summer for work. Once he was even bitten by a black widow spider there and was sent home. The plantation owners would try to adopt him all the time, but he never let them do so.

He went to America in search of new job opportunities and a new life, and arrived at New Jersey, from their he mover to Mingo Junction Ohio and worked on the railroad. He met his wife (Mary) and both moved to Mingo Junction Ohio. This was a fixed wedding; both were immigrants from Rosetta Italy.

Eventually the mover to Steubenville Ohio and had ten children, But 8 survived past the age of nine months.

Joseph had a couple of jobs throughout his life. First he worked for the railroad laying down railroad ties. When he arrived in Steubenville he worked in the coalmines. After that he got a job at a steel mill, but soon was laid off. From the he walked the streets for a couple of months. He found a job as a construction worker; he built people homes for a dollar a day. His wife Mary died at the age of 60; they found a tumor in her that was said to be the cause of death. From there he retired at the age of 65. Joseph Vario dies when he was 92. Doctors found out that he had black lung, they were amazed that he lived this long. He died of old age.
